Discover the art and joy of handbuilding with clay as you explore creative approaches to surface texture. Designed for all experience levels, this three-session workshop introduces slab-building techniques as you create a textured vase and planter using cylinder forms. Experiment with texture mats, fabric, and found or invented textures to create unique, one-of-a-kind surfaces, with plenty of opportunities to customize your projects to match your skill level and creative style. These functional pieces make thoughtful handmade gifts or beautiful additions to your own home. Whether you're new to the studio or continuing your ceramics journey, you'll gain experience using the akerspace clay studio and feel confident taking on future handbuilding projects. Members and non-members are welcome.
Class meets on the following dates/times:
- Tuesday Nov 10: 6 – 7:30 pm
- Tuesday Nov 17: 6 – 7:30 pm
- Tuesday Dec 1: 6 – 7:30 pm
Please do not register if you cannot attend all meetings. Attendees must be age 14 or older.
There is a material fee of $10, which includes 5 lbs of clay and glaze. This class is limited to 10 participants.
